12/14- 12/ 20: What’s up This Week?
It’s a holly-jolly weekend in the Valley! Here are some of the fun things to put on your calendar. (For more information about each event, simply click on the link provided.)
Thursday:
Live Music at Elk Creek Cafe’: Putnam Smith plays tonight at Elk Creek’s Pub Hang. When it comes to local music and local food, this guy is the real thing. Here’s proof:

Friday: Head to Millheim for a live nativity and Santa at Jim Bryant’s office (107 East Main Street) from 6-8. There are cookies and hot cocoa for the kids waiting in line and after seeing Santa they get to see the great train set in the back room!
Then, starting at 7 at St. Luke’s Cultural Center, on Penns Street, there is a Christmas Movie Double Feature! “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas” & “It’s A Wonderful Life!” Admission is only $5 (kids free!) Elk Creek Ales available.
Saturday:
HOPE Christmas Giveaway: Family Life of Penns Valley is hosting a FREE Christmas yard sale, of sorts. Look for the HOPE signs on Route 45. Thanks, Family Life!
Winter Craft Fair & Farmer’s Market: After stopping by the giveaway, head down to the Old Gregg School for the annual Fair.
Cookie and Candy Sale: The folks at Sprucetown UM Church are busy baking all kinds of delicious treats for your holiday parties!

Brush Valley Community Choir Christmas Concert: At 3 p.m. in Madisonburg, you can enjoy some beautiful local music!
The Sound of Christmas: Or, at 4 p.m., go to The Blessed Kateri Church to hear voices from all over the Valley – including a precious children’s choir!
Music in Millheim: St. Luke’s Cultural Center is hosting a Barbershop Quartet & Tuba Quartet Christmas Concert. Two brilliant quartets in one night! 5pm: “Below Center” Tuba Quartet, 7pm: “Shurfine” Barbershop Quartet performing beautiful holiday music.
Wednesday:
Men’s Night Out: Hey guys, you don’t have to wait until the last minute this year! Head over to Weaver’s Store and take care of all your shopping in one night. While you’re at it, enjoy a $20 gift card for every $100 you spend.
